Bejal Shah is an accomplished litigator who offers a wealth of experience. After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, she began her legal career at Mayer Brown as a commercial litigation associate. Later, she clerked for the Honorable Arthur J. Gonzalez of the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York.
Following her clerkship, Bejal joined the Legal Aid Society in New York County, where she developed a reputation for being tenacious, determined, and successful, securing victories in dozens of high-stakes trials, hearings, and dispositive motions. A "lawyer's lawyer," she is highly respected by her colleagues and adversaries alike.
Bejal also has a passion for international law and has supervised and trained Nepalese lawyers in Kathmandu. During her time there as an international fellow at The International Legal Foundation, she helped implement a public defender system, assisted in drafting the country's new constitution, and met with UN and government officials concerning the Rule of Law projects in Nepal.
In addition to her impressive legal career, Bejal is the Communications Chair & Board Secretary for Little Essentials, a growing non-profit serving over 51,000 children living in poverty in New York City. As a member of the executive committee, she has been instrumental in developing the organization's strategy, brand, and fundraising efforts.
