Bejal Shah is an accomplished litigator with extensive experience in high-stakes trials, hearings, and dispositive motions. Known for her strategic advocacy and tenacity, she has built a reputation as a “lawyer’s lawyer,” earning the respect of colleagues and adversaries alike. Her legal career spans complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy law, and public interest advocacy, making her a well-rounded and formidable attorney.

Bejal began her legal career at Mayer Brown as a commercial litigation associate before clerking for the Honorable Arthur J. Gonzalez of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. She later joined the Legal Aid Society in New York County, where she successfully litigated numerous high-stakes cases, demonstrating her exceptional courtroom skills and dedication to justice.

Beyond domestic litigation, Bejal has a strong passion for international law. As an international fellow at The International Legal Foundation, she worked in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she supervised and trained local lawyers, helped establish a public defender system, contributed to drafting Nepal’s constitution, and collaborated with UN and government officials on Rule of Law projects.

In addition to her legal work, Bejal is dedicated to community service. She serves as the Communications Chair & Board Secretary for Little Essentials, a nonprofit that has supported over 51,000 children living in poverty in New York City. As part of the executive committee, she has played a key role in shaping the organization’s strategy, branding, and fundraising efforts.
