She has handled hundreds of cases involving attempted murder, assault, sexual assault, firearms, technology-facilitated harassment, and so forth. She also served in the Kings County District Attorney’s office’s Racial Justice Committee, lending her voice on ways to improve the office’s efforts to review and recommend internal policies that contribute to fairer prosecutions.
Outside of her practice, Melinda is committed to empowering attorneys in professional and academic spaces as an executive board member of George Washington University Law School’s Association of Black Law Alumni, where she facilitates professional, academic, mentorship, and social programming for alumni and students.
